What root patches can restore
- Graphics drivers and acceleration
- WiFi drivers
- Bluetooth drivers
- Touch Bar and T1 drivers
- Built-in iSight camera drivers
- USB 1.1 drivers
- Other compatibility patches for older drivers
When to run post-install patches
Run post-install patches after the installed macOS system boots. OCLP can automatically root patch some systems if the USB installer was created inside OCLP and the correct model was selected before installer creation.
- Run patches after a fresh OCLP macOS install.
- Run patches again after each macOS update.
- If graphics acceleration is missing or the system feels unusually slow, check whether patches are installed.
Packages that may require internet
Some systems require additional packages during patching. MetallibSupportPkg may be needed for Ivy Bridge, Haswell, and NVIDIA Kepler systems running Sequoia or newer. KDKSupportPkg may be needed for Macs with AMD legacy GCN GPUs on Ventura or newer.
Reboot, connect to the internet, and run root patching again so OCLP can download the remaining required packages.
